What I learned in class this semester focused mainly on 3D modeling and how to create complex shapes in 3DS Max software. As a person who started this class with limited knowledge on both computers and modeling software, I feel as though my growth over these past 9 weeks would be impressive to past me. I can now create a complex structure out of blocks, whereas in the past I struggled with creating the most basic of shapes. I've enjoyed the creative freedom I'm given in this class, although it is shining a light on the fact that my time-management skills may not be as good as I thought they were. Since I don't have access to the software at home, It makes it hard to complete things by the deadline given. I'm looking forward to our next unit in Adobe Illustrator, another site I've never used, and learning new and better ways to improve my artwork.
The experience I've learned in 3DS Max will surley be helpful if I ever decide to try my hand at video game designe

I began this project following a video tutorial describing how to layer the edit poly, taper, noise, and mesh smooth modifiers to create the mushrooms and rocks, then moving on to follow a flower tutorial, and then finally merging and editing the scene together. I liked creating all the flowers for this project, as well as editing the scene together into the landscape. The easiest part of this project was probably making the flower petals and spreading them evenly across the flowers center. The hardest part of this project was making five rocks that all looked different. I can use this lesson in the world if I ever need to make a semi-realistic landscape that involves mushrooms. To complete this project I became more famirialer with the modifier tab and the tools involved with it. I had to use my pre-existing skills and adapt to figure out the best settings to get a realistic mushroom shape
I began this project with a simple box and added on to it from there. The thing I liked most about this assignment is the fact that it's over now, and I don't have to work on it any longer. The easiest part of the project was creating the base plane shape using the extrude and bevel tools. The hardest part was getting the wings to look how I wanted them to without messing the whole plane up. I can use this lesson while working on the upcoming assignments for this class, and use the skills this project taught me to further my understanding of the 3D modeling world. I don't know if I learned any new skills, but I definitely furthered my understanding of how 3Ds Max works. What would make this project better would be to make it not exist, but since that's unlikely, I would say that editing the tutorial and making it a bit clearer how do what needs to be done would work wonders.
